Welcome to Motherhood (No One Actually Has It All Figured Out)
Welcome to Motherhood (No One Actually Has It All Figured Out)
If you’re reading this with one hand while the other is holding a baby, a coffee that’s gone cold, or your sanity by a thread — welcome. You’re exactly where you’re meant to be.
At Love & Lee, we want you to know something straight up:
You don’t need to bounce back, have a perfect routine, or feel blissed-out every minute to be a good mum. You just need to show up — and you already are. 🤍
Motherhood is magical… and messy… and hilarious… and exhausting… often all before 9am.
Let’s talk about that.
The Truth No One Says Loud Enough
Some days you’ll feel deeply in love with your baby in a way that almost hurts.
Other days you might cry because you can’t remember the last time you showered alone.
Both are normal. Both can exist at the same time.
New motherhood isn’t a highlight reel — it’s a series of tiny moments:
-
The way they curl their fingers around yours
-
The milk-drunk smiles
-
The random crying that stops the moment you sit down after pacing for 20 minutes (why though?)
You’re not doing it wrong. You’re doing something brand new.
You’re Allowed to Laugh (Even When It’s Chaos)
There will be moments that feel absurd:
-
Changing a nappy only to immediately need to change another
-
Finally getting them to sleep… and then needing the toilet
-
Googling “is this normal?” at 2am (yes, it is)
If you can laugh, laugh. If you can’t, that’s okay too. This phase is short — even when the nights feel very long.
A Gentle Reminder About You
You are still you.
Not “just” a mum.
Not someone who needs to disappear into doing everything perfectly.
You’re allowed to:
-
Rest when the house is messy
-
Ask for help (and ask again)
-
Choose comfort over comparison
-
Do things the easy way
At Love & Lee, we believe motherhood should feel supported, not overwhelming — which is why we’re all about simple, thoughtful essentials that make this season feel a little softer.
One Last Thing (The Most Important One)
If no one has told you today, let us be the ones:
You’re doing an incredible job.
Even on the days you doubt yourself.
Especially on those days.
Take a breath.
Snuggle your baby.
Drink the coffee anyway — cold still counts.
We’re so glad you’re here. 💛
